In Our Communities
Resurgent Capital Services L.P. (“Resurgent”) executives and employees contribute to our communities by giving their time and money to several charitable organizations. For more information on how Resurgent gets involved in our community see below.
Member of the Better Business Bureau -
Resurgent is a member of the Better Business Bureau of Upstate South Carolina.
Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity -
For over 25 years, Habitat for Humanity has helped low-income families achieve their dreams of having a place to call home. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and help of the homeowner, partner families, local corporations, and many volunteers Habitat for Humanity is able to assist in making these dreams come true. Habitat houses are sold to the families at no profit and financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build even more Habitat houses.

In the fall/winter of 2003 and 2005, hundreds of Resurgent employees gave their time, energy and talent to build two homes, complete with landscaping, in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Resurgent also contributed money to buy supplies and various furnishings for the house. In addition, employees held fundraisers and provided individual donatinos and the company responded with a corporate matching gift. Thesefunds were used specifically to equip the homes with essentials -- a range, garbage disposal, dishwasher, ceiling fans, washer and dryer, microwave, cookware, linens and non-perishable food items.

Our next home will be built in 2007!

United Way United Way -
The United Way of Greenville works to bring knowledgeable volunteer and community partners together to identify solutions for critical issues in Greenville County. This organization then develops strategies and invests community resources in programs to impact what matters most in our community. The commitment of thousands of donors and volunteers over the years has changed the lives of so many people and enriched the life of our community. Every year, Resurgent raises the bar for the United Way campaign in Greenville, South Carolina.
Hands On Greenville

Hands On Greenville -
Each year, employees dedicate their time and service for Hands on Greenville (HOG) Day. HOG Day is Greenville's only “volunteer-a-thon” in which 2,000+ volunteers revitalize and repair schools, community centers, soup kitchens and parks that many people depend on in Greenville and surrounding areas. Resurgent employees form an annual team to participate and reap the benefits of teamwork, camaraderie and the feeling of making a difference.

Metropolitan Arts Council -
For over 33 years, MAC has enriched the community through the sponsorship and promotion of diverse arts, activities and events – as the funding source for area arts organizations, individual artists and arts educators. MAC also partners with Greenville county schools to bring SmartArts initiatives to students, which uses art to reinforce curricula.

•   Develop a child's critical thinking, raise his or her academic achievement, and build a child's self-esteem
•   Unite families through shared activities
•   Provide local jobs as patrons cultivate and indulge their desire for arts
•   Encourage economic growth by drawing new fans to Greenville who want to raise families and grow businesses here. by making Greenville an ideal place for companies to open and/or relocate

Resurgent has won MAC’s “Most Creative Fundraiser Campaign” award three years in a row. Resurgent’s ongoing partnership with MAC alters the outcomes of our children and the makeup of our great city.

Bikes for Kids -
Resurgent biannually sponsors a Bikes for Kids program. It benefits children in need of a “special” gift. Rather than exchanging holiday gifts, Resurgent and our network of supporting agencies and attorneys made donations to the Bikes for Kids program. Resurgent, working in conjunction with the Wal-Mart Corporation, The Phillis Wheatley Association, and Eastland Church provided bicycles and helmets to over 360 children.

For Christmas, Resurgent assembled and delivered 360 bicycles to deserving children in Greenville South Carolina. Contributions to the Bikes for Kids program were received from agencies and attorneys that work with Resurgent, and the bicycles were assembled by the Resurgent staff over a four day period. Conscious of quality in everything they do these Resurgent “bike assemblers” carefully check their work before delivery to a child.

Adopt a Child for Christmas and Toys for Tots
Each Christmas season, we fulfill the hopes and dreams of nearly 100 children and their families by supplying gifts that otherwise may not be received. Resurgent worked with various organizations and children's homes to determine children in need. We also participated in Toys for Tots last year, filling several barrels with toys.

We have the opportunity to play Santa each year through our involvement with Safe Harbor, Center for Developmental Services (CDS), New Foundations, Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Church of God Children's Home. In most instances, our gifts are given to children ranging from 3-18 years of age.

During the holiday season Resurgent associates raise money for, purchase, gift wrap and deliver toys to needy area children.

Ronald McDonald House -
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati provides a supportive "home away from home" for families and their children from all over the world who are receiving treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center or other area hospitals, regardless of their ability to pay.

The House provides a comfortable place where families can sleep, eat home-cooked meals and meet others facing similar situations and offer support to one another during difficult times. It is supported by generous individuals, McDonald's owner/operators, local businesses, civic groups, foundations, and a large, caring group of volunteers.

Resurgent’s IT group has had the pleasure of serving two dinners and is scheduled for a third to help give those who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House a good meal without having to leave the facility. A total of 45 employees, family and friends have volunteered to make these dinners a success. Many recipients had wonderful things to say about our efforts and we enjoyed the chance to give back to the community!

Stepping Stones Center -
The mission of Stepping Stones Center is to provide opportunities for children and adults of all ages with disabilities which increase independence and promote inclusion within the community.

Stepping Stones Center is a non-profit United Way agency that serves over 1,100 persons with disabilities each year.

Resurgent IT had a great time planning and facilitating the Independence Day Picnic at Stepping Stones. We decorated the picnic area, provided the food for the picnic and assisted with the cooking and serving. The weather cooperated and a great time was had by everyone involved. Many staff and families of those served by Stepping Stones stated that this was the best picnic ever and extended their appreciation to Resurgent and all the individuals involved.
